Options for Vinyl Letter Adhesives
Adhesives for applying vinyl lettering can differ based on the use. As an example for letters placed on cars, trucks, vans and especially boats will require a more permanent adhesive that is resistant to weather such as high winds and water. Whereas, wall letters and window lettering may require a more removable based vinyl adhesive. The aspects of the adhesive used should depend on the application and the preference of the customer, and Custom Vinyl Lettering takes great pride on educating our customers as the the options that exist to ensure we are able to fit the proper solution to the needs of the intended use.
Cheap vinyl lettering will use Acrylic based adhesives where we use the more durable and easier to use solvent based adhesives. Solvent based adhesives are easier to install because one can use the wet based application process when installing your lettering, whereas with Acrylic based adhesives, the wet application method cannot be performed. Other benefits include the fact that our solvent based method is a better waterproof and weatherproof solution making boat and vehicle applications more durable to water and wind conditions.
We also apply a wax backing paper to ensure that installation is easy and efficient. The adhesive will not stick to the wax backing ensuring that installing your vinyl words will not be a difficult task.
